Succulents

Went out walking during my lunch hour. I've since moved from the Midwest to the Middle East, temporarily at least. Back in Haifa, Israel to serve at the Baha'i World Centre. Interestingly enough it's warmer back home than it is here at the moment. Still, I'm glad to be back close to one of my favourite seasons--Spring. I passed by a stretch of various succulents and decided to spend some time sketching a few of them. If you're not familiar with them, they're basically fleshy plants that retain water, like the aloe. There's so many different kinds of these plants and other wildlife in the area, it might be interesting to make note of as many as I can during the few months I am here.

  1. Ugh, wrote a long comment and clicked away before hitting 'send'...

Anyway, a) Like your title font.

    b) The fact that you are constantly creating art probably in a "mystical sense" means that you might be more in tune with your soul, but that's just what I think.

I wish I could switch between different parts of my brain, and not be so rational about art and critical of what it should look like.

    1. Don't you hate it when that happens?

I guess the surroundings have a decent part in what I may decide to make, particularly during the fast when you have a lunch break and the best thing to do is to wander around the gardens. Although in general, what you create always has the potential to be a reflection of the soul.

In some ways what art looks like has no boundaries but on the other hand you still have to wonder what some people are thinking at times...
